Internship program
Candidates must pass a background check and security clearance through the Sherriff’s Office.
Pretrial Services provides a means to integrate academic theories and principles with practical job experience for students through evidence-based practices including an introduction to the pretrial release programs, county corrections facility, the criminal court process, and the criminal justice field.
Program summary
Internship hours will be based on departmental needs. Interns can be placed in the main office, in the main jail facility, or both.
Interns with a college class requirement will work 120 hours and will have the opportunity to work an assignment in the jail, court, and supervision units.

- Junior or senior year college students
- Student interns at this level must work in their chosen field of study
Level 4 student intern
- Professional and graduate school students
